Expert Scar Assessment

Every scar is unique, and so is every person. I start by taking the time to really understand your scar and how it affects your life — your movement, your comfort, and your everyday life. I will ask about how your scar happened, your symptoms, what treatments you’ve tried, and what matters most to you. At the end of the assessment, we will discuss my thoughts and recommendations; together we’ll create a personalised treatment plan, with realistic goals and a clear sense of what’s possible. Most assessments last around an hour, giving us a good start for understanding your scar and what matters most to you.

Manual Scar Mobilisation

I’ve developed gentle, specialised techniques to help soften and loosen scars, improve comfort, and often enhance appearance. These hands-on methods are delivered while you’re in a comfortable position, or — when helpful — in a therapeutic position that stretches your scar. Each session is tailored to your individual needs, with your scar continually reassessed so treatment adapts as it responds, with the goal of achieving the best outcome possible.

Mechanical Scar Mobilisation

Many scars respond well to targeted mechanical treatment. I use LPG or endermologie, a sophisticated device designed in France, to provide precise stimulation to your scar tissue. This technology builds on the principles of scar massage and rehabilitation, helping to standardise treatment, it is very effective in improving the quality of scar tissue. It works powerfully alongside my manual techniques and other treatments to provide a comprehensive approach to scar care.

Scar Rehabilitation

Even small scars can change how your body moves. Scars from burns, surgery, accidents, or other trauma can leave the body deconditioned, especially if movement has been limited and painful. If scars are near or cross joints, mobility may be further affected by tight scar bands or contractures. I work with you through exercise, stretching, and scar-focused rehabilitation to restore mobility, ability and comfort in your body. The aim is to help you reach your potential and realise your goals.

Scar Management

Scar management is about helping your scar feel and look as good as it can. I offer a range of non-invasive options, including manual and mechanical scar massage, stretching, pressure garments, silicone products, creams, and taping. I work very closely with trusted specialists such as plastic surgeons, dermatologists, medical tattooists, camouflage experts, and psychologists. Many of the scar management techniques are applied in combination with other more invasive treatments such as laser or surgery, delivered by colleagues. This collaborative approach ensures your care is comprehensive, expert and effective; targeting each of the areas where you want to see improvement.

Scar Products

It can be confusing to know which creams, silicones, or other products will truly help your scar. During your assessment or treatment, I will guide you through the options and provide clear, practical recommendations so that you can make confident choices and benefit from effective treatment.

I also provide pressure garments, often used to help flatten scars and other scar products that help us improve the scar characteristics you want addressed.
